Soldier with M1 Garand rifle

Soldier carrying a M1 Garand.

The M1 Garand (also known as United States Rifle, US Rifle, Caliber .30, M1) is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for the .30-06 Springfield rifle cartridge. It was the first standard-issue semi-automatic rifle.

In Inglourious BasterdsEdit

When we first see the "Basterds" alligned in a row, M1 Garand rifles are seen slung over the shoulders of Wilhelm Wicki, Smithson Utivich, PFC Andy Kagan, PFC Michael Zimmerman, PFC Simon Sakowitz, PFC Omar Ulmer, and PFC Gerold Hirschberg.

Stolz der NationEdit

M1 Garand rifles are seen wielded by some of the American soldiers in the film-within-a-film "Nation's Pride", which are fired at Frederick Zoller.

  • The Basterds are seen carrying the rifles in their introduction scene, but don't use them during the film, instead they use many Karabiner 98k rifles that they looted from the dead German soldiers, which is necessary, as the ammunition is not compatible between the two rifles.
