Leni Riefenstahl (22 August 1902 – 8 September 2003) was a film director and producer during the Nazi regime. She was most known for producing Triumph of The Will, a propaganda film about the Third Reich, that won her and the film several awards.

Fredrick Zoller believes that Shosanna is an admirer of the actress Leni Riefenstahl, the protagonist of "The white hell of Piz Palu", a film shown in her cinema. Shosanna however shows low admiration for an actress known for her friendship with Hitler and the Nazi Party membership.
