Inglourious Basterds Hitler painting

Hitler and his painting.

Hitler's painting is a huge painting of Adolf Hitler, painted on a huge board by his painter, leaning on the wall of his conference room in the Burstich Garden.

Overview[]

The painting is huge, big enough to cover the wall of a large hall. It shows Hitler in a yellow uniform, with a cape, similar to the uniform he wore in the scene.

History[]

The painting is seen at the Burstich Garden, being completed by Hitler's painter. From a quick view, the portrait is almost finished, needing just a few more corrections.

Trivia[]

  • The painting appears to be inspired by a 1938 portrait of Adolf Hitler by Heinrich Knirr.
  • Samm Levine, who portrayed PFC Gerold Hirschberg, also portrayed the painter.
  • In real life, Heinrich Knirr was Hitler's official painter, but it's unlikely the film character is him, as Knirr died at the end of May 1944, while the events of Chapter 2 take place near the beginning of June. Also, Knirr was bald, while the movie painter is clearly not.
