Chapter Four - OPERATION KINO[]
He is seen in the La Louisiane tavern, from the French village of Nadine, playing the card name game with Wilhelm and his friends. The man is drinking beer and celebrating the birth of Wilhelm's newborn son along with his comrades. When Hicox, Stiglitz and Wicki enter the tavern disguised as SS officers to meet up with Bridget von Hammersmark, the Wehrmacht soldier, along with his buddies stand up and salute the trio, thinking they were real German army officers. Before Bridget leaves the group to join the Basterds, the man and the other soldiers wave goodbye, not before reminding her she still has her name card on her forehead.
At one point, the woman soldier from the group plays a prank on him, by placing him in a headlock while squeezing his nose, to amuse Mathilda. The man however, is not amused and feels humiliated by the prank. Immediately he and the rest rise their schnapps glasses and toast for Max.
When Wilhelm sits at The Basterds' table and causes Hicox to lose his temper, Stiglitz points at Wilhelm's friend and the female soldier that they'll both will be responsible for Wilhelm's behavior and makes him come and take the sergeant away, only to be interrupted by Major Dieter Hellstrom, who, after questioning Hicox, tells him and his companions to take Wilhelm away, which they do.
When the firefight erupts in the tavern, he stumbles to pull out his gun, but Stiglitz shoots him dead before he can open fire.
