The Model 1908 Vest Pocket is a compact, hammerless, semi-automatic single action pistol. Manufactured by the Colt's Manufacturing Company from 1908 to 1948, it was marketed as a small concealable firearm which could be easily tucked into a gentleman’s vest pocket for unobtrusive and convenient carry.
In Inglourious BasterdsEdit
Shosanna Dreyfus prepares for trouble at the premiere of Stolz der Nation by loading a Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket and keeping it in her purse, eventually drawing and firing it three times at Frederick Zoller.
- There is some degree of uncertainty if the gun Shosanna uses in the film is the Colt Model 1908, as there aren't enough clear and detailed close-up images of the weapon. Many gun enthusiasts on IMFDB believe that the gun could also have been other models, like FN Model 1905 or FN 1906 Baby Browning, as this model has a distinct rear sight, whereas the Vest Pocket just has a groove on the slide. The gun from the film is about the right shape and size and has the distinct front and rear sights of an FN 1906.
