Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany by both area and population.

In Inglourious Basterds[]

Although it did not appear in the film, the narrator mentions that Hugo Stiglitz was to be sent to Berlin, with the implication that he would either be publicly executed or tortured. However, the Basterds managed to rescue the German soldier before that happened.

Behind the scenes[]

Alexander Fehling, August Diehl, Bela B. Felsenheimer, Christian Berkel and Jana Pallaske were born in Berlin.
